A Few Tips on Finding Cheaper Airline Tickets

CHEAP FLIGHTS

The prices of airline tickets can vary enormously, even over the course of a day. The price you are quoted in the morning could be halved later in the day, or it may have doubled! Airlines tend to base their varying ticket prices on three factors, demand, availability and competition.

This basically means that high demand and low availability routes will tend to be more pricy than less popular destinations. It also means that if demand is low, and there is a chance that airline seats will be empty, then the prices will fall.

Start Your Hunt for Bargain Tickets Early

To make the greatest savings always start your hunt for bargain tickets as early as possible. By early I mean at least one month in advance, ideally more. While decreases in ticket prices can occur they tend to increase so searching early is generally a good idea.

Shop Around

Always shop around, whether searching for cheap flights online or by telephone. Keep notes and play one airline off against another by telling them the best prices that you have been quoted so far. It’s a good idea to tell airlines that you are flexible over your date and time of departure in order to be quoted the best possible prices. Don’t give specific dates, just ask for the lowest price for your destination.

Make Good Use of Discounts

Airline discounts can often be a false economy. Most discounted flight tickets come with a whole load of conditions such as restrictions on travel dates and times. The take full advantage of any discount you will often have to book your flight at least three or four weeks in advance. Make certain that you are aware of the restrictions associated with discounts from various airlines.

Buy Return Tickets

Always get return tickets rather than buy separate one-way tickets for your return journey as this will save you a fortune.

Make Use of Your Age

If you’re a student be certain to look out for student discounts. You may find that there are some discounts specifically for senior travellers so if you are a bit older it would be worth asking about these.

I hope that these very simple tips will provide you with some useful savings when you next fly.

For more travel savings I recommend booking your Birmingham Airport Parking, Heathrow Parking or Gatwick Parking as far in advance as possible.
