While setting the tone for the holiday season, there is no doubt that the glittering Christmas lights and colorful Christmas holiday decorations that adorn homes, malls and businesses will, to put people in a festive mood.
Christmas traditions have very interesting histories that most people know very little about. It all began when the German people brought evergreen trees inside which led to the Christmas tree. Before electricity was invented, people placed little candles on their Christmas tree’s branches, which began the holiday tradition of decorating with Christmas lights.
Christmas lights were introduced in the 1800′s when electricity was becoming the norm. Christmas holiday decorations would forever be changed after the revolution of Christmas lights Christmas lights aren’t the only holiday decoration that has evolved. Lighted Christmas trees are becoming more popular for many US Homes year after year. Many decorators are displaying LED prelit Christmas trees which are far more efficient than the original and signify the latest technology in holiday decorating today.
Some top their Christmas trees with an angel and some with a star. Either choice will surely compliment all the other decorations. The final ornament placed at the top of the tree reminds us of what the Christmas holiday is Jesus Christ which is also known as the Christmas star. Shepherds were guided by an angel to Bethlehem where they would find the new baby Jesus which is why the angel has become a symbol of Christmas.
Lighting for the holidays comes in many different varieties, colors and styles. Common holiday decorations nowadays are string, icicle, or rope lights. These lights often times can be controlled by small computerized timing devices which displays distinct visual blinking patterns. Since the 1800′s, Christmas lights have changed quite a bit and will continue to change, but they will always be a staple of the Christmas season.
