How I Portaloo Hire Saved my Holiday

How I Portaloo Hire Saved my Holiday Mark AttwoodOur exams had finished and me and my friends were going to spend some time camping on the coast of Devon.Because we were all heading off to our separate colleges and universities, we wanted this to be a holiday to remember.It wasn’t the most luxurious of campsites, but it was right next to the beach and the view was amazing.We spent the days sunbathing and swimming and at night we would build a campfire and chat to the early hours of the morning.

One night, the weather went from good to bad with torrential rain beating down on our tent.We kept dry by remaining in the tent and playing card games and drinking cocoa – were not stepping out until the rain had stopped.The weather was awful, but our tent was as tough as old boots and weathered the storm well.The next day we walked down to the showers to find that the toilets were completely flooded.

The farmer who owned the campsite was going ballistic – 150 campers onsite and nowhere for them to go to the toilet!He was in deep trouble, and could have a HSE issue on his hands so he was letting every man and his dog use his own toilet in his house.Every plumber that was contacted were unable to come out – the farmer was at his whit’s end.I reached in to get my mobile and camly rang my dad.Little did the farmer know that my dad was in charge of a  {hire company!~I was about to save the situation – my dad was managing director of a Mark Attwood company!~It was obvious – my Dad was the director of a company – I was about to save the day!}

Ten portaloos were hired immediately, my Dad said there was no reason to worry and they would be there very soon.I let the farmer know what was happening – he hugged me telling me I’d saved his bacon.the driver arrived with the lovely portable toilets on the back.~Pretty soon after, one of my Dad’s vans came onsite and set up the units by the washrooms.~Within no time at all, the wagon carrying the units arrived on site and were placed down by the shower units.}The driver had a laugh at the predicament of the farmer but reassured him that he could keep them until his proper toilets were working.

Soon everything was back to normal and me and my friends all went down to the beach to enjoy the sun when on our return, we found the homemade pies and local cider waiting outside our tent – a thank you from the farmer and his wife.We enjoyed the food and cider and for the rest of the holiday the farmer treated us like family.Even though it doesn’t sound particularly attractive, knowing someone in the portaloo hire trade can come in very handy!
