It Is Time To Take A Break

If you work at home or telecommute, it can seem as if you are always working. Sometimes it is difficult to separate work and home life. It is often tempting to head back into your home office after dinnertime to get just one more project completed and let the family suffer.

If you have fallen into this rut, then it may be time to put work away in your home office storage and plan for a mini vacation with family or friends.

If it is winter and temperatures are cold, do not worry, that means that it is the perfect time to hit the slopes. Pull out the salomon ski equipment, pack a high protein lunch using all natural foods made you’re your black decker food processor, gather the family and hit the slopes.

During the summer, you will find many great opportunities at the beach. Take some time to enjoy this almost free mini vacation so that you can come back refreshed and ready to get some work done.

Spring and autumn days are perfect for a hike in the woods or a drive through the country side. If you are an amusement park fan, these are often days of low attendance so you are able to take your time and ride some of your favorite rides. These days are also great ones for a visit to a park or a zoo.

Mini vacations can be as short as half a day but may stretch to a three or four day weekend. They are an ideal time to spend with family and to reconnect to those you love. Many people find that they are able to get more work done once they return than they would have if they had continued a normal schedule.

Everyone needs a diversion at times. Life can be filled with pressures that leave us disoriented. The mini vacation gives you time to refresh and refocus as you prepare for the many challenges of life.

When was the last time that you spent a few hours or a few days with family or friends relaxing and enjoying everything around you? What are you waiting for? Make a couple of phone calls to make arrangements to be gone, and schedule your break right now. Even if you are not able to take a spontaneous mini vacation, planning a short trip for next week can give you something to look forward to and help you to set some goals for your work today.
