• Eat. You may consider this a given. We need to eat to survive right so what is better about a cruise ship? Well cruise ships have ever changing menus that will give you a taste of the local culture, as well as spoil you for choice by the number of outlets you will find on board. With loads of top chefs under one roof you will always come away with some exquisite food. Try tasting something from every outlet to give your taste buds a workout.
• Swim. Almost all liners have 1 or more swimming pools where you brush up on your stoke, have a bit of fun or make the most of the sun. The best bit is the is nothing to block the sun so you can enjoy the pools all day long as it crosses the sky. More modern liners even have wave-riding machines or flumes on board so make the most while you can.
• Casino. You should definitely experience the buzz of the casino, even if they whole thing is a little bit out of your comfort zone. The best place place to meet new people in a relaxed and fun environment in the casinos. They always have a great atmosphere and you could even leave with more money than you went in with. You don’t have to go out all guns blazing to have a good time. Blackjack is a good starting point to get yourself going if you’re a newbie. Blackjack players are usually friendly and the rules are quick to pick up.
• Bar. There will be a number of different bars all over the ship and some luxury cruises are all inclusive, so there is no excuse not to sample some liquid delights. The barmen and ladies make a million martinis a day but will jump at the chance to make something a little more interesting. Get them to suggest their favourite tipple or ask for something traditional to a country you are visiting and they will amaze you with their cocktail making skills.
• Shows. Cruise ships only book top quality acts to entertain their passengers so you’re certain to leave with a smile on your face if you book in for one of the evening shows. Ask the staff around the ship for their recommendations and cruise reviews. They have more than likely watched the shows a good number of times so will have the best advice around.
